What happens when archival material—always partial and exclusionary—is reassembled, repurposed, and reconfigured? How can one affectively relate to a place they have never visited, only by receiving echoes of faint or lost human and nonhuman voices, mediated, fragmented or speculatively reconstructed by others?

This two-day workshop explores an experimental approach to creative archival research that we call echography. Participants will be invited both to work with this emerging methodology and to contribute to its further development, in relation to an archive assembled during a research stay on the island of Tilos in the summer of 2025.
