The Modern Greek Language Program (Program in Hellenic Studies) offers placement tests the week before the first day of classes in the fall. The test is comprised of both written and oral parts. Students who wish to schedule the test before the start of the fall semester, or to take a Modern Greek placement test at any other time in the year, or who have particular questions about placing, should contact the Director of the Language Program, Dr. Nikolas P. Kakkoufa at [email protected].
The language placement exam is not a graded test and does not affect your academic record. Its sole purpose is to determine the course level that best matches your current language skills, so you can start where you’ll learn most effectively. We understand that exams can feel stressful, but this assessment is simply a placement tool—not a measure of success or failure. It’s designed to support your learning by placing you in the class that’s right for you.
