"Pictures of Exile, Memories of Cohabitation: Photography, Space and Social Interaction in the Island of Ikaria"

 

Bio:
Elena Mamoulaki holds a PhD in Social and Cultural Anthropology from the University of Barcelona (2013). Her dissertation is titled: "An Unexpected Hospitality: Narratives, Practices and Materialities of the Memory of Exile and Cohabitation on the Island of Ikaria". She studied Architecture at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece (2003) and received her MA “Design-Space-Culture” at the National Technical University of Athens (2005) and her DEA in Anthropology at the University of Barcelona (2008). Elena Mamoulaki has taught as Lecturer at the Department of Architecture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2007-2009). She is currently lecturing at the Arcadia University and at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens for the Program: Plato's Academy.
